Some dishes require minimal effort yet deliver maximum satisfaction, and skillet chicken thighs fall squarely into that category. This recipe relies on a straightforward combination of honey, soy sauce, and garlic to create a glossy, thick glaze that coats tender chicken pieces with a balanced sweet-and-savory flavor. Served alongside white rice, it makes for a complete weeknight meal that comes together in less than half an hour.
Ingredients:
500 grams (about 1 pound) chicken thighs, cut into medium pieces
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1½ tablespoons honey
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Chopped green onion for garnish (optional)
Preparation:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, and black pepper until well combined. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss thoroughly, ensuring each piece is evenly coated with the marinade.
Heat the olive oil in a wide skillet over high heat. Add the chicken pieces and sear them until they develop a golden-brown color on both sides. Pour the remaining marinade from the bowl into the skillet, then reduce the heat slightly. Continue cooking for approximately 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the chicken to cook through while the sauce reduces and thickens into a shiny glaze.
Transfer the chicken to a serving plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onion if desired, and serve hot.
The dish pairs well with white rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables on the side.
