Concern is mounting in Hasidic communities following a sharp decline over the weekend in the medical condition of the Beis Shmuel Tzvi Rebbe of Spinka. In response to the deterioration, his father-in-law, the Rebbe of Kretchnif, made a sudden emergency flight to New York to visit his son-in-law, who is hospitalized in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
The Spinka Rebbe, who has been fighting a severe illness for the past year, was rushed to the hospital just before the Sabbath after his condition worsened significantly and medical complications developed, including severe pneumonia. As his condition declined, physicians were forced to sedate the Rebbe.
When news of the deterioration reached him, the Kretchnif Rebbe decided to fly to the United States to remain at his son-in-law's side and provide strength to the family during this difficult time. The hasty trip is considered unusual, as the Kretshnif Rebbe himself has been weakened in recent times and does not typically travel abroad frequently.
According to estimates, the Rebbe is expected to remain in New York for approximately two weeks, until mid-Elul.
The Hasidic community is calling on the Jewish people to increase prayers for the complete and speedy recovery of Rabbi Yosef Meir ben Bluma Sarah, among all the sick of Israel.
