Followers of the Sanz-Klausenburg Hasidic movement in Israel are preparing for the arrival of their spiritual leader, who is scheduled to land this Thursday for an extended visit lasting at least one week. The Rebbe, whose primary residence is in Borough Park, Brooklyn, is making an unscheduled trip to Israel to strengthen the movement's communities and institutions across the country.
The purpose of the visit is to provide followers with an opportunity to meet privately with him ahead of the High Holidays—Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. During these meetings, known as receiving a kvittel in Yiddish, followers present written requests for blessings and spiritual guidance.
His itinerary includes visits to Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, and Elad, where he will participate in ceremonial events marking the expansion of Sanz-Klausenburg institutions in these cities. Organizers are currently finalizing the logistics of the visit, with particular focus on securing a large venue to host a central Shabbat gathering that will bring together hundreds of followers. Additional events and visits to holy sites are being coordinated throughout the week.
