The Kretshnif-Siget Hasidic community is marking a significant milestone as its leader, the Rebbe, has officially relocated to Jerusalem. The move comes exactly one year after he assumed leadership of the movement following the death of his father, the previous Rebbe.
Until now, the Rebbe maintained his official residence in Beit Shemesh, a city west of Jerusalem with a large ultra-Orthodox population. He had established his study hall there during his father's lifetime. Though he spent considerable time in Jerusalem throughout the past year alongside his followers, his formal home remained in Beit Shemesh.
On Monday evening, the Rebbe completed his move to the capital, transferring his household to a spacious apartment in Jerusalem. The new residence is located near the movement's central institutions on Rapaport Street in the city, bringing the leader closer to the heart of the community's activities. The relocation closes the chapter on his years living in Beit Shemesh, to the delight of his Hasidic followers.
