The Los Angeles Jewish community is in mourning following the tragic death of a 4-year-old frum girl on Tuesday afternoon. The child was inadvertently left inside a hot vehicle for several hours after her morning carpool ride to Yeshiva K’tana of Los Angeles, as reported by Yeshiva World News.

According to community reports, the young girl was part of a carpool headed to the yeshiva but, for reasons still under investigation, remained in the vehicle upon arrival. She was not noticed missing until later in the day. By the time she was discovered, she was unresponsive. Hatzolah and emergency responders were called to the scene in the 12700 block of McCormick Street in Valley Village, but despite efforts, she could not be revived.

LAPD has opened a child abuse investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, though no arrests have been reported as of this writing.
