Teen Injured by Bus at Jerusalem Entrance

A teenage pedestrian was struck by a bus while waiting at a hitchhiking station near the capital, sustaining head and limb injuries

A 16-year-old haredi boy was struck by a bus on Sunday at a hitchhiking station near the entrance to Jerusalem, close to the Givat Shaul neighborhood. The teenager was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in moderate but stable condition after receiving initial medical treatment from United Hatzalah emergency responders at the scene.

According to a spokesperson for United Hatzalah's Jerusalem district, the teen was hit by the bus while waiting at the hitchhiking station, a transit point where Israelis wait for rides.

Yoni Elzara and Yosef Motzari, United Hatzalah medics who treated the victim, reported: "We provided initial medical assistance at the scene to the pedestrian who was suffering from trauma and injuries to his head and limbs as a result of being struck by a bus. He was then evacuated by United Hatzalah ambulance to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in moderate and stable condition."

This incident adds to a series of traffic accidents involving haredi pedestrians in recent weeks. Several days ago, a yeshiva student approximately 19 years old was injured in a similar accident at the entrance to Jerusalem, also struck by a bus.

The teen's family has been notified of the incident and arrived at the hospital. The public is asked to pray for his complete recovery.
