A nationwide malfunction affecting Israel's water supply system has reached residents of the Binyamin Regional Council, located in the West Bank. The council issued an urgent notice to residents following severe strain on local water infrastructure and significant disruptions including widespread water outages across communities in the area.

The disruption stems from problems at desalination facilities operated by Mekorot, Israel's national water company, which supplies water to most of the country. In its statement, the council called on residents to exercise personal responsibility and reduce water consumption to the minimum necessary. Officials specifically instructed residents to ensure that both private and public irrigation systems are completely shut off during the crisis.

Meanwhile, the council's infrastructure department and emergency response teams are coordinating closely with Mekorot and the Israel Water Authority. They are preparing to provide emergency assistance and establish water distribution points in communities experiencing shortages.
