The maritime monitoring organization initially reported that boats loaded with armed personnel were approaching a tanker near Al Mukalla on Yemen's southern coast, prompting the tanker to broadcast emergency distress calls. According to updated reports, at least six gunmen climbed aboard the vessel and are currently directing it under threat toward an undisclosed destination.
