Attorney General accuses Shin Bet of delaying investigation by withholding materials

Israel's Attorney General issued a statement clarifying that citizens and officials cannot be investigated without evidence in a country governed by rule of law. The statement reveals that for the past two days, the Shin Bet has failed to transfer investigative materials to the special investigative team established following Justice Solberg's recommendation, effectively delaying the matter. The Attorney General invited the Shin Bet or any other body to present evidence if it warrants an investigation, emphasizing that "anyone who needs to be investigated will be investigated, but no one will be investigated without an evidentiary basis." The statement describes the move as highly unusual and issued in response to inaccurate reports.
