Nachman Kinan

The body of Nachman Kinan, who had been classified as a missing person, was discovered Thursday in the Switzerland Forest area near Tiberias, Israeli rescue officials confirmed,

ZAKA received a report at 1:40 p.m. about a body found in the forested terrain. Northern district volunteers were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Recovery teams faced challenging conditions as the remains were located in complex terrain near a cliff edge. ZAKA volunteers from the northern district worked alongside other rescue forces to retrieve the body while maintaining dignity protocols required by Jewish law. Shai Levy, a team leader with ZAKA's northern district who was present at the scene, described the operation: "This is a very complex scene in difficult terrain close to a cliff. A very sad end to the search.
With a broken, aching heart torn by tears, we announce with great sorrow the death of Katriel Nachman Kinin, of blessed memory, a resident of Beit Shemesh. After extensive searches with the help of all relevant authorities, he was found today in the Swiss forest near the shore of the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias, without life. He was 24 years old.
Nachman was a devout young man, humble and truthful, a devoted follower of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. He was known for brightening others' faces and helping every person.
Nachman went missing a week and a half ago, from last Monday, in the Tiberias area. His close family members, friends, the Chabad community, and emergency and security forces all did everything possible to search for him in every conceivable location, until this bitter and painful end.
Thank you to everyone who helped and assisted. We are very grateful.
Announcement regarding the funeral will follow."
