Former Justice Minister Chaim Ramon appeared on the 'Shomer HaSa'if' podcast alongside Professor Moshe Cohen-Eliya and outlined what he believes is the only realistic path to forming Israel's next government.
Ramon predicted that the president will assign the mandate to Gadi Eisenkot, who will then announce he is forming a government with 48 mandates and the backing of the Arab parties. According to Ramon, this scenario will play out even if Avigdor Liberman withholds his support.
The reason Eisenkot will certainly form a government, Ramon argued, is that a unity government is off the table, the change-bloc leaders refuse to sit under Netanyahu, and the alternative of going to another round of elections with Netanyahu heading a transitional government is "the nightmare script of the change bloc."
"They won't let that happen, and Eisenkot will form a government," Ramon said.
