Jerusalem's municipal government held a farewell ceremony Thursday for outgoing Mossad director David "Dadi" Barnea. Mayor Moshe Lion thanked Barnea for his service and explained that the two had met before the conflict with Iran escalated, during which Lion was impressed by Barnea and decided to organize a personal send-off for him. Barnea has four children, two of whom attended the ceremony with his wife, while two others are currently serving in the Israeli military.

Ex-Mossad Chief: Iran Still Global Threat
David Barnea, who recently stepped down as Mossad director, received recognition from Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion and called for continued pressure on Tehran's regime
In his remarks, Barnea expressed gratitude for the recognition. "I am moved and humbly accept this honor from Jerusalem," he said. "The conquest of Jerusalem exemplifies the principle of 'with stratagems you shall wage war.' The credit and authenticity belong to all the workers, and on their behalf I accept this award. The Mossad's achievements are the result of cooperation with the military. The State of Israel has undergone and continues to undergo upheaval. It's important to say that Israel's security and strategic situation is immeasurably better than it was before October 7th. Hezbollah is not the same organization. In Gaza, it's no longer the same Hamas. And Iran, the head of the octopus, a dark and oppressive regime that murders its own citizens, has suffered a devastating blow."
Barnea continued with a warning about the Iranian threat. "The enlightened world has awakened. Today it's clear that the Iranian issue belongs to everyone. Iran will reach everywhere," he said. "President Trump understands very well that the Iranian regime cannot be left as is. The sanctions are his, but there will be no escape from imposing more sanctions and more actions to bring down the regime, and it will fall." He concluded by invoking Jerusalem's symbolic significance: "Jerusalem teaches us to be together. From here must come the message of unity, of tolerance."
