The Houthis have captured a new target, closer than ever to the Saudi royal family, in a move expected to embarrass even Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Houthis seize Saudi-backed speaker's palace
The Iranian-backed terror group captured the residence of Sultan al-Barakani, one of the most senior figures in Yemen's Saudi-backed government, and taunted Riyadh: We'll reach your palaces too

The Iranian-backed terror group released footage showing its fighters inside the palace of Sultan al-Barakani, speaker of the parliament under Yemen's "official government" backed by Saudi Arabia. The video came after weeks of escalating fighting in which the Houthis have gained the upper hand over forces supported by Riyadh.
Al-Barakani is considered one of the most senior figures in the Saudi-backed Yemeni government and is close to the Saudi royal family itself. He was forced to flee his estate earlier as Houthi forces advanced and Saudi-backed defensive positions collapsed.
In the video, the Houthis mock both Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government, hinting they may soon operate inside Saudi territory. One fighter promised: "We'll reach your palaces too."
