Iraqi PM makes first visit to Syria since Assad regime's fall

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa welcomed Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi at Damascus International Airport on Wednesday, marking the first visit by an Iraqi prime minister to Syria since the Assad regime fell. Many members of Iraq's ruling pro-Iranian coalition view al-Sharaa as a terrorist and oppose establishing relations with him. Al-Zaidi is expected to travel to Lebanon following the Damascus visit.
