Defense Minister Israel Katz cautioned that Iran's deteriorating domestic situation could push the regime toward drastic action, including striking Israel, but warned such an attack would remove all constraints on Israel's response
Defense Minister Israel Katz warned at a special Defense Ministry toast that Iran's worsening internal situation may drive the regime to extreme measures, potentially including an attack on Israel.
According to Katz, senior Iranian officials sense the ground shifting beneath them, with fears of regime collapse growing more acute daily. He suggested Tehran might resort to drastic steps to divert domestic attention from its mounting problems.
Katz explained:
"There are signs we're observing that indicate the severe economic pressure Iran is under, combined with fears of uprising and regime fall, could push them toward acts of desperation.
An Iranian strike on Israel would free Israel from every existing constraint in attacking Iran. We would strike all of Iran's national military and civilian infrastructure, including energy infrastructure, and send Iran deep back into the Stone Age and darkness.
The ayatollah regime in Iran knows very well why it hasn't attacked Israel after we struck them forcefully twice, destroyed the nuclear program, eliminated Khamenei, and severely damaged their strategic capabilities."
