Fighter jets launched unusual strikes in southern Lebanon following Hezbollah's deployment of explosive drones against Israeli troops near strategic Ali Taher ridge
Israeli officials earlier expressed anger over what they characterized as a severe violation of ceasefire terms by Hezbollah. According to an IDF spokesperson, the terrorist organization launched suicide explosive drones at Israeli forces operating in the area of the Ali Taher ridge, the site of a strategic fortified Hezbollah compound.
The IDF spokesperson stated: "During the night, Hezbollah launched two explosive drones toward IDF forces operating in the Ali Taher ridge area in the security zone in southern Lebanon. IDF soldiers fired and shot down one of the drones, and contact was lost with the second drone. There were no casualties among our forces."
Despite the incident ending without casualties, the IDF viewed it as a serious case of violating the understandings on the ground, and pledged a significant response.
