Chinese Phone Charger Safety Warning Issued by Israel

Israel's Standards Authority at the Ministry of Economy and Industry has issued an urgent public warning calling the public to immediately stop using a wall charger manufactured by TECHLINE.

The charger is a Chinese-made wall adapter sold under model number 2A-DU-F19F, bearing barcode 6983536521987. Testing conducted on behalf of the Standards Authority by Hermon Laboratories Ltd. found that the product fails to meet mandatory Israeli safety standards and poses serious risks of electrocution and fire.

According to the test findings, the charger's outer casing and internal components lack adequate heat and fire resistance. As a result, during normal operation or in the event of a malfunction, the plastic materials may soften or melt, potentially causing short circuits, ignition, and electrocution hazards.

Inspectors found that the charger's plug pins are thicker than permitted under the standard and may damage electrical outlets or their insulation, leaving exposed conductive parts that create further electrocution and short-circuit risks. The product's internal transformer also lacks proper insulation.

The Ministry of Economy emphasizes that anyone in possession of this product should stop using it immediately. Officials stress that the sale of this charger in stores is strictly prohibited.
