Diplomatic Visit

President Isaac Herzog will travel to Cyprus Thursday for talks with President Nikos Christodoulidis as regional dynamics shift

Herzog in Cyprus

Israeli President Isaac Herzog will travel to Cyprus this Thursday for a brief diplomatic visit, following an invitation from Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulidis. The trip comes as tensions between Israel and Turkey have escalated in recent weeks.

During his visit, Herzog will be received at the Presidential Palace by President Christodoulidis. The two leaders will hold a political meeting focused on deepening cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties between their countries. Following their one-on-one discussion, an expanded bilateral meeting will take place with delegations from both nations, led by the two presidents. Both leaders will deliver public remarks at the opening of the expanded session.

The visit will last only several hours, with Herzog returning to Israel the same day. The President's Office noted that the visit continues the ongoing working relationship between the two presidents. Christodoulidis visited Israel in December 2025, meeting with Herzog at the President's Residence in Jerusalem.
