Retired Major General Eliezer "Chayni" Marom, who formerly commanded the Israeli Navy, addressed the possibility of Iran's government collapsing before Israel's upcoming elections in a radio interview Monday on Galei Yisrael.
Marom expressed confidence that sustained American pressure could topple the Iranian regime. "If the Americans stay committed to the mission, don't give up and continue doing what they're doing, I don't see this regime surviving," he said.
The former naval commander voiced strong support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's predictions regarding Iran's future, stating: "I take the Prime Minister's word about the regime's fall with both hands." He then added a striking political observation: "By the way, one word regarding the elections: all the pollsters can go home if the Iranian regime falls before the elections."
Marom's comments come amid ongoing criticism from opposition figures, who have repeatedly accused Netanyahu of prolonging the conflict with Iran for political gain and seeking to enter elections from a wartime posture to use the conflict as an electoral campaign tool.
