Netanyahu Holds Security Meeting

Three days after an unusual Israeli strike in Syria's Idlib province, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a special security consultation Thursday evening to address escalating tensions with Turkey and Ankara's declared intention to maintain its military presence in Syria.

According to i24News correspondent Yossi Yehoshua, the meeting included Israel's top security officials and representatives from the intelligence branches. Participants discussed anticipated developments in Syria and the evolving situation with Turkey.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar recently announced that Turkey would continue strengthening the Syrian military and maintaining operations in the country. "Our efforts and contributions to protect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to achieve a stable and secure structure, will continue with determination," he stated. "The world must quickly stand against Israeli actions, which have turned invasions and sovereignty violations into routine matters. We will continue to assist in developing and advancing the Syrian army."
