Michal and Tal had planned their wedding for the following year. Then circumstances changed everything. Michal's mother, Chana, was hospitalized in the surgical intensive care unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, requiring continuous oxygen support.
The young couple faced a choice: proceed with their original plans, or find a way to ensure Chana could be present for one of the most important moments of her daughter's life. They chose the latter, deciding to move up the wedding date and transform the hospital into their wedding venue.
Working with Shaare Zedek's medical teams and the respiratory care unit, staff found a solution that allowed Chana to leave the ward briefly. She was connected to a portable oxygen device with a long-lasting battery, and medical personnel accompanied her to the hospital's family area.
There, surrounded by relatives, Michal and Tal shared the moment they had wanted so desperately to include her in.
