Crime scene in Beit Shemesh

Israeli authorities have released the name of the child killed in Monday's stabbing attack in Beit Shemesh: Hillel Mordechai Dadon, age 7. The boy was critically wounded in the attack and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His four-year-old cousin was also stabbed in the incident and remains hospitalized in moderate condition after undergoing surgery.

The attack occurred Monday afternoon in the central Israeli city of Beit Shemesh. According to police, a neighbor, a 25-year-old man believed to be mentally unstable, allegedly entered the family's apartment and stabbed both children. Yosef Chaim Bernfeld, a medic with Magen David Adom (Israel's emergency medical service), described arriving at a chaotic scene. "We were led to two children suffering from serious injuries," he recounted. "A seven-year-old boy, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, and a four-year-old boy who was conscious." Medics performed life-saving treatment and CPR on the older child before rushing both to the hospital in critical and serious condition. Dadon was later declared dead at the medical center. Police arrested the suspect and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the attack, including whether a dispute between the families may have precipitated the violence.
