Spanish PM criticizes US intervention in Iran, says Europe paying €100 billion for war

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that Europe "naively believed the United States, a great democracy and ally, would not repeat the mistake it made 20 years ago." He said the US "trampled on international law" and that "instead of intervening in Iraq, it is intervening in Iran." Sánchez added that "we are paying for it with our own money," noting that "in less than a year of war, Europe has paid an additional €100 billion." He compared this to "more than twice what Europe spends on its Common Agricultural Policy to protect farmers, livestock breeders, and fisheries."
