U.S. Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania responded to the critical wounding of Neriya Leiter, son of Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter, who was injured in a ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint on Route 443.
Writing in response to a post by Ambassador Leiter, Fetterman stated: "As a father, I cannot imagine this uncertainty and pain. Yechiel Leiter, my family and I send our deepest condolences to you and your family. May your son recover quickly and fully."
Neriya Leiter, a reservist in his thirties, was critically wounded in the ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint. He was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where medical teams are fighting to save his life. The terrorist who carried out the attack was eliminated at the scene.
