U.S. Treasury sanctions Iraqi bank used by Iran to fund proxy militias

The U.S. Treasury has imposed sanctions on an Iraqi bank that Iran used to access the international financial system and finance its proxy militias. The measure, part of Operation Economic Outcast, also targets offshore banks and shadow financiers who moved hundreds of millions of dollars through shell companies and foreign exchange networks across the Middle East and Asia.
