Ahead of a strike?

Western intelligence agencies have identified that Iran is carrying out "extreme steps" and new military maneuvers, apparently driven by the country's severe economic distress, Channel 12 News reported Thursday evening.

According to the report, Israel is maintaining frequent dialogue with the United States on the developments. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has presented to US President Donald Trump Israel's assessment of what is unfolding in Iran under the leadership of Mojtaba Khamenei. Israeli officials believe that any strike plan must include hitting infrastructure, energy facilities, the missile program, and nuclear sites. However, the understanding is that Trump has not yet decided whether or when to strike.

Security officials in both Israel and the United States do not believe the developments in Iran require urgent action that cannot be delayed, the report said. The assessment comes at a particularly sensitive time for both countries: less than two weeks before Israel's elections and three weeks before the US midterm elections.

Meanwhile, Channel 11 reported that Israel has raised its alert level in recent days as part of preparations for a possible escalation. At this stage, there is no concrete intelligence indicating that Iran or Hezbollah intends to attack Israel, but the IDF is monitoring closely and describes the current period as "sensitive."

According to the report, Iran began conducting tests last week in the areas of ballistic missiles and drones, and Israel is tracking the developments. A security source said, "We are working to ensure we are not caught by surprise."
