UAE Minister warns of Hormuz Strait energy disruptions at ADIPEC conference

UAE Minister Sultan Al Jaber warned of significant energy disruptions related to the Hormuz Strait at the ADIPEC conference. He cited nearly 1 billion barrels drawn from reserves, diesel stocks at 35-year seasonal lows in some markets, a 600 billion cubic feet LNG supply shortfall, and oil logistics costs surging from under 5% to over 30% per barrel. Al Jaber called for diplomacy, preparedness, strategic reserves, and alternative supply routes. He also announced ADNOC will become the first energy company to deploy OpenAI Frontier technology across field development, well management, and commercial operations.
