Days ago, a cell of five suspects allegedly attempted to breach RAF Fairford, which serves as a forward operating location for the US Air Force and houses American B-1 supersonic bombers.
The plot was foiled after civilians in the area noticed suspicious activity by the suspects, who were traveling in commercial vehicles later found to be loaded with explosives. The civilians alerted police, leading to the arrests and the prevention of the attack.
Prime Minister Burnham stated that "there are strong indications that Iran took part in this act." The development in the investigation came after a court had already released the suspects on bail, a decision that drew sharp criticism in the United States.
