While global attention focuses on traditional flashpoints, a significant military partnership is quietly taking shape between two major powers that could reshape the balance of power in the Middle East and North Africa. China and Egypt are launching the second round of joint air force exercises, marking a substantial escalation in defense cooperation between the nations.
According to an official announcement from China's Ministry of Defense, the air forces of both countries will begin drills in mid-August under the name "Eagles of Civilization 2026." Running through early September, the exercises will take place on Egyptian territory and focus on advanced aerial combat tactics, battlefield search-and-rescue operations, and coordinated deployment of combined forces.
