The president also emphasized market reaction to the deal, stating that financial markets have surged since news of the agreement broke. "A lot of people are very happy about this, especially the markets, which have risen in recent days since they heard about the deal," Trump said.

Trump closed his remarks with a blistering attack on former President Barack Obama's 2015 nuclear agreement, which Trump withdrew from during his first term. "He tried to bribe the Iranians, and gave them $1.7 billion — and you know what he did? They laughed at him and called him a 'stupid son of a bitch,'" Trump claimed.

The president's comments come as the administration faces mounting criticism from Israeli officials and conservative commentators who warn the deal offers Tehran sanctions relief without requiring meaningful concessions on its nuclear program, ballistic missile development, or support for regional terror proxies.

Vice President JD Vance has defended the agreement, dismissing Israeli critics as amplifying Iranian propaganda and insisting strict oversight will prevent funds from reaching Hezbollah. But Trump's own rhetoric Wednesday suggests the White House remains prepared to abandon diplomacy and return to military action if the agreement collapses.

The memorandum of understanding is scheduled to be signed Friday at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland, with Vance leading the American delegation. The 60-day negotiating period that follows will determine whether the framework evolves into a comprehensive agreement or whether Trump makes good on his threat to resume strikes.
