A couple's stay at a Florida hotel turned into a terrifying ordeal when they discovered a stranger had been hiding under their bed while they slept.
The incident occurred at the Provident Doral hotel in Doral, Florida, on September 10. According to the arrest affidavit, the couple had checked into their room the previous evening, closed the blinds on the rear glass door, and went to sleep.
The woman told police that around 4:00 a.m., she felt movement near the bed but fell back asleep. About an hour and a half later, she sensed movement again — this time coming from beneath the bed.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., she decided to look under the bed to check whether she had accidentally left something there. Instead, she discovered a strange man concealed underneath.
The couple immediately left the room and contacted hotel security. Police arrested 25-year-old Ritchel Claiber that same day, who allegedly entered the room through a rear sliding door after climbing over the balcony fence.
According to police, Claiber had previously stayed at the hotel but had been told not to return. He faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and an additional charge of resisting an officer without violence.
