A brief video from President Donald Trump's campaign rally at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center in Wasilla, Alaska, on Tuesday has gone viral on social media, showing a tense moment when Secret Service agents appeared to prepare for a potential security threat.
The clip shows Trump speaking from the podium as a man runs toward the agents stationed around the stage, apparently to warn them of a possible security concern. One agent in a suit reacts immediately, his hand moving to his waist in what some viewers interpreted as preparation to draw a weapon. At the same time, a second agent quickly emerges from behind a blue curtain at the side of the stage, apparently moving to assess or neutralize the perceived threat.
The video was widely shared on X with the caption: "Man runs to warn Secret Service agents of a possible security threat at Trump rally. One puts hand on gun. Another jumps from curtain to neutralize the threat."
The footage focuses on the stage area, showing Trump speaking behind a podium bearing "Make America Great Again - Wasilla, Alaska" signs, with agents positioned behind and beside him. The agents' rapid movements in response to the approaching individual are clearly visible, with one agent moving closer or preparing to act.
The rally context
The Wasilla event was part of Trump's midterm campaign swing to support Republican candidates in Alaska, including Senator Dan Sullivan, Congressman Nick Begich, and gubernatorial candidate Brenda Wilson, whom Trump endorsed that day. The event drew thousands to the venue, which holds approximately 3,500 people, and marked the first visit by a sitting president to the Mat-Su area.
Reports from the rally noted that a protester was quickly removed by security about ten minutes into Trump's speech.
