Federal Security Service publishes CCTV from the Crocus City Hall attack near Moscow, showing gunmen moving through corridors as concertgoers fled and fire engulfed the building | One of the deadliest terror attacks in modern Russian history

The Federal Security Service made the footage public on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. According to Russian media reports, the video consists of three segments documenting the attack from different angles. One segment shows four gunmen armed with automatic weapons advancing through a hallway.
Additional segments show people in the hall fleeing in panic and attempting to take cover under seats as gunfire is heard. Later footage documents the outbreak of fire at the site.

The attack took place on March 22, 2024, shortly before a scheduled performance by the Russian rock band Picnic. Four armed terrorists stormed the concert complex in Krasnogorsk, on the outskirts of Moscow, and opened fire on people who had come to attend the show. A fire was then set that spread throughout the building, and part of the hall's roof collapsed. The horrific scenes and chaos at the site made the attack one of the deadliest terror incidents Russia has experienced in recent decades.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, and its Afghan branch, ISIS Khorasan, was linked to the assault. Russian authorities also accused Ukraine of involvement in the affair, but Kyiv denied the allegations, and reports on the Russian accusations presented no public evidence supporting them.

On March 12, 2026, a military court in Moscow handed down sentences to 19 defendants in the case. Fifteen of them were sentenced to life imprisonment, while the other four defendants received lengthy prison terms ranging from nearly 20 years to 22 and a half years. Among the defendants were the four attackers who carried out the shooting as well as individuals accused of assisting them and involvement in the terrorist activity.
The release of the new footage brings back one of the darkest episodes in modern Russian history, showing the moments of terror when an evening of music turned into a deadly terror attack.
