US Navy helicopter issued emergency distress code, possibly crashed into sea

A US Navy MH-60R Seahawk helicopter was observed on flight trackers rapidly descending after transmitting squawk code 7700, which signals a general emergency. A US Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft is now en route to the location where the helicopter issued the distress signal. Officials believe there is a strong possibility the helicopter went down in the water.
