Winter, Liberman activists block Gaza aid

Members of Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael party join Yisrael Beiteinu MK and Tzav 9 protesters at Kerem Shalom crossing, raising eyebrows in Netanyahu camp over possible future coalition alignment

Liberman and Winter

An unusual political partnership appeared Thursday at the Kerem Shalom crossing, where members of Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael party joined Yisrael Beiteinu MK Yulia Malinovsky and Tzav 9 activists to block humanitarian aid trucks heading into the Gaza Strip. Among those present were Sigal Kraunik, widow of Kibbutz Be'eri security coordinator Shlomo Kraunik, and Ronen Bodanero, both Amcha Yisrael members.

The protesters came to prevent the passage of aid convoys, demonstrating against the continued flow of supplies while Hamas remains in control and continues to rearm in Gaza.

The sight of Winter's people standing alongside a representative of Avigdor Liberman's party is not an accidental meet-up. The event comes against the backdrop of growing concern in the Netanyahu camp and the broader right-wing bloc that Winter may be willing to cooperate and sit in a future government with Liberman, a scenario that has raised significant alarm in the Prime Minister's Office.

Tzav 9, the protest movement blocking aid convoys, was founded by Re'ut Ben Haim, who recently joined Bezalel Smotrich's Religious Zionism list.

Yisrael Beiteinu MK Yulia Malinovsky sharply attacked the government's policy in the field. "Three years since the massacre and the government of Israel continues to feed Hamas and bring aid trucks to the terror organization," she said. "In the coming elections it's either a decision or trampling. Either right or Palestine."

Sigal Kraunik of Amcha Yisrael also condemned the continued supply of trucks to the Strip. "The continued entry of aid trucks into Gaza is a national disgrace," she said. "Three years after October 7, alongside the achievements, Hamas still stands on its feet, arms itself and poses a threat. Instead of bringing aid to terrorists, the State of Israel must advance emigration from Gaza. This is our duty for the fallen and for the next generation, this is the only way to achieve security."
