Winter Party Hits Back at Likud Threat

Attorney Eran Ben Ari, running with former IDF Col. Ofer Winter's party, rejected claims that their independent run harms the right-wing bloc

Attorney Eran Ben Ari, a candidate with former IDF Colonel Ofer Winter's "Amcha Yisrael" (Your People Israel) party, pushed back Monday against accusations that his party's independent run threatens the right-wing camp.

Speaking on Kol Barama radio, Ben Ari argued that running separately actually maximizes votes for the nationalist bloc rather than splitting them. He pointed to polling data showing many right-wing voters dissatisfied with existing parties are choosing either to stay home on election day or even to vote for the opposing camp.

The attorney emphasized that voters are demanding new faces and real answers following the October 7 attacks, and that a technical merger with established parties would alienate those seeking protest votes and genuine change. Earlier Monday, Likud Knesset member Avichai Boaron had stated his party would work to collapse Winter's party to prevent vote loss. Ben Ari called this approach misguided, saying it offers no fundamental solution. He stressed that if polls near election day show the party failing to cross the electoral threshold, they would act with integrity and national responsibility.
