Stormy autumn conditions ahead with sharp temperature drop and rainfall, but warmer weather expected to return by Yom Kippur

Rain

Stormy autumn weather is on the way, though conditions are expected to shift as the High Holidays approach. The Israel Meteorological Service reports that a significant temperature drop and rainfall are forecast for the coming days, but warmer weather will return by Yom Kippur itself.

Friday will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a marked drop in temperatures, which will fall below seasonal average especially in mountainous regions. Local rain is expected intermittently in the north and center of the country, with isolated thunderstorms possible. Strong winds will also blow throughout the day.

Shabbat will bring partly cloudy conditions and relatively pleasant weather for the season. Temperatures will remain below average, particularly in the mountains. Light local rain may still occur in the north and center during morning hours.

Sunday, erev Yom Kippur, will be partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures. Light drizzle is possible along the coastal plain during morning hours. As the fast begins in the evening, relatively comfortable weather conditions will prevail.

Monday, Yom Kippur, will see partly cloudy to clear skies. Temperatures will rise further, especially in the mountains and inland areas, reaching slightly above seasonal average.

Tuesday will remain partly cloudy to clear, with a slight temperature drop particularly in mountainous areas.
