The IDF continued its series of readiness drills Thursday morning, launching an unannounced joint exercise by the Technology and Logistics Division and Home Front Command at multiple locations across the country.
The drill, scheduled to run until midday, comes less than two weeks after "Dawn Rising 2.0" – the Chief of Staff-level surprise exercise ordered by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir on September 6.
That earlier drill saw headquarters across regional commands, divisions, and branches suddenly called up to test responses to multi-arena attack scenarios, including aerial, maritime, and ground infiltrations, rocket fire, mass-casualty events, and hostage-taking situations.
At the time, the Chief of Staff defined the IDF's baseline posture as "readiness for a surprise attack," explaining that the exercises were designed to test forces and command centers from field units up to the General Staff level, partly in preparation for the holiday period.
Thursday's exercise shifts focus to rear-echelon, technology, and logistics systems. The drill tests the ability to respond to a range of surprise operational scenarios, including activation of standby and reserve forces, system readiness, and decision-making processes from district and regional commands up to senior General Staff levels.
As part of the exercise, heightened movement of security forces, military medical teams, and vehicles is expected throughout the morning in various areas across the country.
The IDF emphasized that there is no cause for concern regarding a security incident, and that the current drill was planned in advance as part of the training schedule for 2026.
