An Israeli airstrike in Yemen late Saturday reportedly targeted a high-level meeting of the Houthi leadership, including the group’s Chief of Staff, Mohammed al-Amari, according to senior Israeli sources. The meeting, described as a wartime security cabinet convened by the Houthis, was said to include top members of the group’s military and political command.

The strike marks one of the most direct and strategic Israeli efforts yet against the Iranian-backed militia, and may represent a significant blow to the operational planning of the Houthi front. While official confirmation of casualties has not been released, Israeli officials suggest that the strike was timed with precise intelligence and intended to decapitate the group’s senior military command structure.

The attack in Yemen unfolded amid a wave of escalating regional violence. In Tehran, multiple Israeli airstrikes reportedly struck sensitive infrastructure, including a major fuel terminal. Local media in Iran have also reported a possible Mossad assassination inside the capital, though those claims remain unverified.

Closer to home, northern Israel came under heavy rocket fire Saturday night, with dozens of missiles launched toward Haifa and the surrounding areas. In the city of Tamra, at least one person was seriously injured, and several others were reported trapped following a direct hit on a residential area. Emergency crews are working through the night to extract survivors.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responded with an announcement of a new retaliatory campaign, dubbed Operation Promise of Truth 3. The IRGC Aerospace Force claims to have launched a combined barrage of drones and ballistic missiles in what it called a “decisive response” to Israeli aggression.

The Israeli Home Front Command has issued nationwide alerts, activating air raid sirens in several regions and calling on civilians to remain in shelters. Military Censorship authorities have also urged the public not to share footage from impact sites, citing the risk of aiding enemy intelligence.
