Talks collapsing?

Are the talks collapsing? After reports that the United States approved a draft memorandum of understanding presented to Iran, Tehran has now (Tuesday) rejected the proposal, which it says fails to address all of Iran's conditions for ending the conflict.

"The US response regarding Iran's rights and demands was not convincing," said Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. "The US must provide a full and explicit response to the seven conditions Iran has set and act on them --- only then will the Strait of Hormuz reopen."

Earlier today, the Qatari newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported that the United States had approved the draft memorandum of understanding that the Qatari delegation presented to Iran yesterday. According to the report, the Qatari mediation team briefed Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on the memorandum, which received approval from both countries. The report also claimed that the US and Iran had agreed to concessions on the Iranian nuclear issue and on unfreezing frozen assets.
