Maccabeats Presents HanuK-POP Demon Hunters | WATCH
Maccabeats: "We’re thrilled to share this year’s Chanukkah video, inspired by the dynamic style of KPop Demon Hunters. This project blends our music with a bold animated world that brings the Chanukkah story to life in a fresh way."

The Maccabeats, the popular Jewish a cappella group from Yeshiva University, dropped their 2025 Hanukkah track titled "HanuKpop Demon Hunters" a week ago.
It's a high-energy a cappella medley that mashes up Hanukkah traditions, like frying latkes, spinning dreidels, and celebrating the miracle of the oil, with supernatural themes inspired by the Netflix animated film KPop: Demon Hunters, where a fictional K-pop girl group fights demons while chasing fame. The song incorporates upbeat K-pop style elements like catchy hooks and vibrant beats, all done vocally without instruments, staying true to their signature sound.
They released an official lyric video for it on YouTube (titled ""HanuKpop Demon Hunters" Official Lyric Video | The Maccabeats | Kpop Demon Hunters Hanukkah Medley"), which has racked up over 27,000 views and 1,090 likes so far. youtube.com The lyrics blend playful Hanukkah references (e.g., "Latkes, latkes... So golden and pretty to the eyes") with empowering messages about Jewish resilience ("We’re rising up up up we’re unbroken... Am Yisrael never fades") and nods to fighting darkness, tying into the demon-hunter vibe.
The track is structured as a medley with sections like "Latkes," "My Idol," "Spinning Top," "Still Golden," and "What It Sounds Like," arranged by Ed Boyer and mixed for that polished a cappella polish.
Today, they released the full music video and it's everything we were waiting for.
You're welcome :-)
