MUST LISTEN: Shulem Lemmer's gorgeous cover of Eden Golan's 'October Rain'

"October Rain" is more than just a song; it's a rallying cry, a lament, and a promise. As the lyrics declare, "I promise you that never again," it encapsulates the nation's resolve to prevent future tragedies and to emerge stronger from this period of darkness.

"October Rain," originally deemed too politically charged for international audiences, has been released in its raw, authentic form and has been covered by renowned Jewish singer Shulem Lemmer, a rising star in Jewish music from Brooklyn, New York. Shulem is from the Orthodox Hasidic community, and is the first singer from this background to sign with a major label, Decca Gold.

The track, with its haunting melody and evocative lyrics, serves as a stark reminder of the events that shook Israel to its core. Lines like "Someone stole the moon tonight / Took my light" resonate deeply with a population still grappling with the aftermath of terror.

In these challenging times, "October Rain" offers a moment of collective catharsis, allowing listeners to connect with the deep well of emotions that many have struggled to express. Despite Israelis being "still wet from this October rain," we continue to dance in the storm, holding onto hope for brighter days ahead.

Lyrics:

Writers of the history

Stand with me

Look into my eyes and see

People go away but never say goodbye

Someone stole the moon tonight

Took my light

Everything is black and white

Who's the fool who told you boys don't cry?

Hours and hours and flowers

Life is no game for the cowards

Why does time go wild

Every day I'm losing my mind

Holding on in this mysterious ride

Dancing in the storm

We got nothing to hide

Take me home

And leave the world behind

And I promise you that never again

I'm still wet from this October rain

October rain

Living in a fantasy Ecstasy

Everything's meant to be

We shall pass but love will never die

Hours and hours and flowers

Life is no game for the cowards

Why does time go wild?

Every day I'm losing my mind

Holding on in this mysterious ride

Dancing in the storm We got nothing to hide

Take me home

And leave the world behind

And I promise you that never again

I'm still wet from this October rain

October rain October rain

לא צריך מילים גדולות רק תפילות

אפילו כשקשה לראות

תמיד אתה משאיר לי אור אחד קטן

Satire, Israel-Gaza War

MUST WATCH: L.E. Staiman is the Jewish satirist we never knew we needed

L.E. Staiman entertains by blending humor with sharp, satirical commentary, often using absurdity to highlight real issues. His character Lyle Culpepper is a hilariously exaggerated persona of an "anti-Semitic lefty," poking fun at extreme views while exposing their flaws. Through Lyle’s antics, Staiman not only makes us laugh but also pushes us to think critically about antisemitism and misinformation.
