Hezbollah Rejects Disarmament - But May Be Open To This

The United States is ramping up the pressure on Lebanon to secure the disarmament of Hezbollah and ensure the state has a monopoly on violence.

The United States is placing heavy pressure on the state of Lebanon to ensure Hezbollah disarms and allows the Lebanese Army to be the sole armed group in the country before discussing IDF withdrawal from those areas it holds inside the country, according to a report today (Tuesday) by Reuters.

While Hezbollah has repeatedly rejected the idea of completely disarming, it has indicated some openness to reducing the amount of arms and weapons in its possession, as it has already lost a substantial part of its arsenal in clashes with the IDF and with Syria cutting off its supply route of arms from Iran.
