The Unsettling Details of the Discovery
Decomposed Body Found in a Famous Singer's Car Identified as Missing Teen
Authorities have identified a body found in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd as a missing 15-year-old girl, prompting an investigation as her cause of death remains unknown.

A body discovered in a decomposed state inside a car registered to indie musician D4vd has been formally identified as a missing 15-year-old girl from California. The discovery of Celeste Rivas comes weeks after her remains were found in the front trunk of a Tesla that was towed to a Hollywood impound lot. The circumstances surrounding her death and how she ended up in the vehicle remain unclear as authorities continue their investigation.
The unsettling discovery was made on September 8 after police were called to a tow yard due to a foul odor coming from a vehicle that had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills two days earlier. The car, a Tesla with a Texas license plate, was found to be registered to 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd. According to law enforcement sources, the remains were not intact, and the victim appeared to have been deceased for an extended period.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation, but officials have emphasized that it has not yet been classified as a homicide. A determination of the cause and manner of death is pending from the medical examiner's office, a process that is proving difficult due to the condition of the remains. In a related development, a search warrant was executed at a Hollywood Hills home where the singer had been living. However, an LAPD source noted that D4vd owns several vehicles that are used by various individuals. A representative for the singer stated that he was informed of the discovery and is "fully cooperating with the authorities."
The victim, Celeste Rivas, was last seen on April 5, 2024, at which time she was 13 years old. A public flyer had been circulated after she was reported missing from Lake Elsinore. The discovery has sent tremors through the singer’s fanbase, with a scheduled concert in Seattle having been canceled.
