Parents Abandon Newborn in Hadera Stairwell
A newborn baby is recovering in the hospital after being found abandoned in a Hadera stairwell. Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage to locate the parents as welfare services step in to care for the infant.

A newborn baby boy is in stable condition today after being found abandoned in a stairwell near the National Insurance (Bituach Leumi) building in Hadera on Monday morning.
The infant, estimated to be about one week old, was discovered wrapped in blankets by National Insurance employees. The staff immediately took the baby inside, where they cleaned and fed him while alerting the police and emergency services.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 9:50 AM. First responder Shira Siman Tov Cohen described the rescue: "We immediately moved him into a heated ambulance to prevent hypothermia. He was fully conscious and stable. I wrapped him in clean blankets and held him close the entire way to the hospital to make sure he felt safe."
The baby was transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center for further evaluation.
Israel Police have launched a formal investigation into the incident. Officers are currently reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area in an effort to identify and locate the parents. Local welfare services have also been notified and are involved in the case.
