Unusual Incident: Lifeless Fetus Discovered in Sewer
Hadera police probe discovery of a fetus in Givat Olga sewer. Findings suggest a miscarriage; authorities are currently searching for the mother.

Police in Hadera are investigating a disturbing discovery in the Givat Olga neighborhood, where a lifeless fetus was found this afternoon (Saturday). Officers responded to a citizen's report and have launched a probe into the circumstances, with preliminary findings indicating it was from a miscarriage in the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy.
The fetus was uncovered during efforts to clear a persistent sewer blockage that had plagued a nearby apartment building for two days. Residents, after unsuccessful attempts by several plumbers, lifted the sewer cover themselves and were horrified to find the source of the issue. They immediately alerted police and medical teams.
Authorities suspect a natural miscarriage, with the mother possibly disposing of the fetus in the building's sewer system to conceal the event. Health officials estimate the fetus was approximately 23 weeks old.
"For a week, we couldn't figure out the cause of the severe blockage," one neighbor told reporters. "We called multiple plumbers, and today we were shocked to learn it was a fetus. Everyone here is in shock."
Police are actively searching for the mother to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine if she requires any assistance or medical support. The fetus has been transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir for further examination.
