After a Houthi strike near Tel Aviv’s airport, some airlines have resumed flights—what’s next for Jewish travel worldwide?


After the Houthis successfully landed a ballistic missile within the Ben Gurion airport complex, may airlines cancelled flights to and from Israel. Although, many are coming back, others remain reticent, especially as the Houthis have vowed to continue their attacks.
Airlines Operating to/from Israel
Etihad, Emirates, Flydubai: Emirati carriers with minimal cancellations since the war began, resuming quickly after pauses.
Blue Bird Airways, TUS: Operate routes to Greece, Cyprus, Germany; owned by Israeli group Kavei Hofsha; paused briefly during 2024 Jewish holidays, resumed early.
Air Europa: Resumed flights to Madrid yesterday (Monday)
Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeroméxico: Operate flights to Europe and the Americas.
Air Seychelles: Continues flights to Seychelles.
Enter Air: Operates flights to Warsaw.
Air Portugal: Operates flights to Lisbon.
Air Samarkand, Uzbekistan Airways: Operate flights to Uzbekistan.
Georgian Airways: Operates flights between Tel Aviv and Tbilisi.
Other Foreign Airlines: Include Romania (Tarom, Flyyo, Fly Lili), Turkey (SunExpress, Corendon), Moldova (Hisky), Bulgaria (Air Bulgaria, Electra), Cyprus (Cyprus Airlines), Czech Republic (Smartwings), China (Hainan), Russia (Azimuth Airlines, Red Wings), Ethiopia (Ethiopian Airlines), Croatia (Croatia Airlines), Scandinavia (SAS), Vietnam (Vietnam Airlines); some on reduced schedules.

Azerbaijan Airlines: To Baku, resuming May 14, 2025.
Wizz Air: Hungarian carrier, resuming May 15, 2025.
Aegean Airlines: Greek carrier, to Larnaca, Athens, Crete, Thessaloniki, Rhodes; resuming May 17, 2025.
Lufthansa Group: Austrian, Swiss, Lufthansa, Eurowings, Brussels Airlines; resuming May 19, 2025, with reduced schedule (no night flights) until June.
LOT Polish Airlines: Resuming May 19, 2025.
ITA Airways: To Rome, resuming May 20, 2025.
Delta, Transavia: Resuming May 20, 2025.
Air France, airBaltic: Resuming May 21, 2025.
Ryanair: Europe’s largest fleet, suspended until at least May 22, 2025.
Airlines with Delayed or No Return
Air India: To Delhi, no resumption before May 26, 2025.
easyJet: Planned for June 1, 2025, but Houthi attack may delay return.
Iberia, KLM: No return before June 1, 2025; KLM to initially operate one daily flight.
Air Canada: Resuming June 8, 2025, with four weekly flights to Toronto.
United Airlines: Suspended until at least June 12, 2025.
British Airways: Canceled until at least June 15, 2025.
Centrum Air: To Uzbekistan, no return before July 1, 2025.
American Airlines: Suspended until end of September 2025.
Virgin Atlantic: Announced no resumption of operations in Israel
