The military exercise "African Lion 2025" which took place over the last month in several strategic areas in Morocco was a comprehensive drill which involved over 10,000 soldiers from the United States, Morocco, and other allied countries.

One of the key components of the exercise, which was held among others in the cities of Agadir, Tiznit, Kenitra, Ben Gvir, and Tifnit, was the participation of the IDF. The Israeli participation in this drill began about two years ago, following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco.

The highlight, which sparked interest if not a 'storm' - was the exposure of footage of a joint training session in subterranean combat (tunnel warfare) between reconnaissance forces of the Golani Brigade from the IDF and parallel units from the Moroccan army. The leaked video clearly showed soldiers from both countries conducting complex combat exercises underground, using advanced technological systems, including remotely controlled robots and modern surveillance equipment. Separate clips in the footage also showed the forces actually descending into tunnel networks.
