Tight Security and No Political Guests

Avner Netanyahu’s Private Lakefront Wedding: All the details

Wedding bells, no politics! Avner Netanyahu is tying the knot in a lakeside ceremony, with tight security, zero government bigwigs, and NDAs all around. From DJ sets to magnet souvenirs (yes, really), here’s what we know about Israel’s most high-profile low-key wedding and why Miri Regev is reportedly fuming from the sidelines.

Avner Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is set to marry Amit Yardeni this coming Monday, June 16, at the celebrity-favored “Ronit Farm” event venue near Kibbutz Yakum.

The couple, known for guarding their privacy, has chosen a modest and relatively small wedding with hundreds of guests, explicitly excluding politicians, ministers, Knesset members, and other figures from the prime minister’s professional circle at Avner’s request. Sources close to the couple revealed that Minister Miri Regev was particularly hurt by her exclusion, having viewed herself as a close family associate beyond her role in the government.

The ceremony will be officiated by Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, former Chief Rabbi of Israel, and will take place under the open sky beside the venue’s lake. To ensure security, the airspace within a 1.5 km radius of Ronit Farm will be closed to all air traffic, except for police aircraft, from ground level up to 3,000 feet above sea level during the event.

All vendors involved, including renowned photographer Chaim Afriat, who will document the couple from early morning through the event, and Shoko Magnets, responsible for providing keepsake photo magnets for guests, have signed non-disclosure agreements.

These agreements mandate confidentiality regarding all wedding details and the privacy of the couple and their families, both prominent and private members, before, during, and after the event. Sky Production will oversee the event’s logistics, while DJ Itay Galo will provide the music, with no live performances by artists planned, keeping the focus on a simple, dance-filled celebration.

The wedding’s location, accessible via Route 551, a secondary agricultural road connecting Route 4 to the Coastal Highway, has raised concerns among residents of nearby communities in the Hovev Bloc, including Harutzim, Batzra, and Bnei Zion. They are bracing for what they describe as a “traffic nightmare” due to expected disruptions. While no official road closures have been announced, locals anticipate that the main road to the area may be blocked to accommodate the high-profile event’s security needs.

Protestors and activists have called for demonstrations near the venue to disrupt access for guests. Their plan includes arriving in convoys and distributing magnets featuring images of hostages, along with copies of the book Mr. Negligence, as a form of protest. Residents are preparing for potential traffic disruptions, including sudden blockages of roads and access paths, which could arise from these protests. Authorities have yet to provide specific details on traffic management or security arrangements to address these concerns.
