Terror in Samaria
With Knives and an Axe: Two Arabs Arrested at Entrance to Beit El
Two Arabs from Tulkarm were arrested Saturday night after approaching the entrance to the yishuv Beit El, in Binyamin, with their car. The two claimed to have gotten lost en route to Ramallah, but security forces found knives and an axe in the trunk and arrested them.
Here’s a clean integration, same tone and format, no theatrics:
Two Terrorists From Tulkarem Arrested at Entrance to Beit El With Knives and Axe
Israeli security forces arrested two terrorists from Tulkarem overnight after they arrived at the entrance gate of the community of Beit El in the Binyamin region of Judea and Samaria, the IDF said.
During a search of their vehicle, soldiers discovered three large knives and an axe. The terrorists were detained without incident and transferred to police custody for further investigation. No injuries were reported.
According to the IDF, the two had traveled roughly 50 kilometers from the Tulkarem area. During initial questioning, the terrorists claimed they were on their way to Ramallah and had gotten lost, a claim security officials treated with skepticism given their location and the weapons found in the vehicle.
An IDF force operating in the area stopped the vehicle on the access road to Beit El, identified the weapons, and carried out the arrests.
Na’amah, a local resident, said the incident was deeply unsettling but expressed gratitude to the security forces. “It certainly shakes one’s sense of security, but thank God and many thanks to the security forces for their alertness. A major disaster was prevented thanks to them,” she said.
The incident renewed criticism locally over the decision to transfer the suspects to police custody rather than to the Shin Bet for questioning, as is customary in terror-related cases.
